Karma: 2 Infiltration,Intimidation,And Rescue « Thread Started on Oct 20, 2005, 7:25pm » The ransom was set. 600 million in cash was to be delivered to Wayne Station at 10 pm,or Mayor Hill's daughter,Connie,would be dead.It was as simple as that. The perps were all former employee's of Carmine 'The Roman' Falcone...One of Gotham City's most notorious Mafia lords,who was taken out of action a week ago. The thugs all carried AK-47's,stolen from a dock shipment. "Rico...We're clear?"One of them asks,into a walkie talkie. "Clear as day,man.Clear as day..." The thug smiled. "Excellent.Any word on the ransom?" "Nothin yet,man.But they've still got two minutes." The thug looked over at Connie,who was tied up,inside the Monorail,which was leaving in two minutes. "They better be damned well ready to pay it...Or cutie over here is about to say bye-bye to dear ole' dad's city."The thug said,sadistically. A minute passed,and nothing had come up.The main thug spoke into his walkie talkie,once again. "Anything now?" A few seconds passed. "Rico?You there?" Suddenly,something could be heard.Like faint gunfire...only to be cut off by silence. "What the hell was that?"One asked. The main thug spoke again. "Rico?What's going on out there?"He asked,urgently. Nothing but static greeted him.The other three thugs looked around,guns raised. "What do you think could've happened?"One asked. The main thug looked back. "Go check.I'll make sure the runt doesn't get away."The thug said,turning towards Connie. One of them walked into the deeper corridors of the station.Unknown to the other thugs,the thug was pulled straight into the darkness,silently. Minutes passed,and the thug hadn't come back yet.The other's started to panic. "Where the hell is Stan?He was supposed to be back minutes ago."One said. The main thug looked at Connie,who was crying,a little. "Forget him.Come on...Let's get this over with."The main thug said,pointing his gun at Connie's head. -CRASH- Suddenly,all of the lights shattered,one by one,scaring the thugs.Something metallic could be heard landing on the ground behind them....But they were too scared to notice it. "What's goin on,man?!"One of them yelled,gun raised. "How the hell should I know?!" "Wait...Look!" The thugs turned their attention to a corridor,not far from the Monorail,where a shadow could be seen,for a split second. "SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!!WHAT WAS THAT?!"One yelled,completely terrified. The main thug looked at the corridor...where nothing could be seen now. "Probably the cops."He said,angrily. "I don't know man...that thing didn't look human."One replied. "Then it was a freakin cat.I don't know,man....go check it out."The man thug said,angrily. The thug nervously went in the direction of the corridor.Before he could get to it,fully,He could hear something above him.Looking up,His eyes widened. "AHHHHH!!!!" And then,He went silent,as something grabbed him,and flew with him,into the shadows of the ceiling. The remaining two thugs looked,awestruck. "A Cat,huh?"The other one said,sarcastically...but terrified. The main thug looked at Connie. "Come on,man...Let's get our asses outta here....Before whatever the hell that was gets..." The main thug looked back,only to discover that...The other thug is gone. "...Us?" The thug raised his gun,completley and utterly terrified. "WHAT ARE YOU?!!?"He asked the darkness. And strangely...the darkness responded. "Your worst nightmare." The thugs eyes widened as the darkness actually came alive,and landed,infront of him...in the shape of a Bat.Before the thug could shoot,Batman kicked the gun out of his hand,and grabbed him by the collar. "WHERE IS THE MAYOR'S DAUGHTER?"Batman demanded. "Sweet Jesus!"The thug responded,staring at Batman in awe. "WHERE IS SHE?!"Batman yelled,angrily. The thug pointed to the Monorail,before passing out.Batman dropped him,and walked over,discovering Connie,still tied up. As Batman freed her,She took a step back,looking at him...shocked. "Who...are you?"She asked,in her high kid voice. "I'm Batman." Within the next few minutes,the thugs were apprehended,Connie was returned safely,and Batman was on his way home,to reunite with his wife and unborn son.
