The contractions got very strong....closing her eyes.. She prayed silently the labor would be alright... That bruce would be here for his son.... She didn't want anything for the pain...She heard things About it, that it could hurt the baby and it wasn't that bad. She held onto Alfred's hand as the contractions got bad.. Where are you,Master Bruce?! Then,suddenly,A Doctor by the name of Leslie Thompkins ran into the room of which they were. "I'm Doctor Thompkins."She said,walking over to Rachel. "Pleasure to meet you,Ms.Thomp..." Leslie looked at him. "Alfred.It's been a long time."She said,with a smile. Alfred stood,confused. ...Had he met this woman? As Alfred stood,Leslie turned to Rachel,and focused on the situation. "Oh God...She's about ready to have it.ORDERLY!"Leslie yelled,running out to the halls. "What?!"Alfred asked,shocked. - - - The Batmobile SCREECHED to a halt behind the hospital. Batman stepped out,and...well...didn't know what to do. He didn't bring an extra pair of clothes...so...He couldn't just run in. But...Rachel was probably in there. He had to do something... Just then,Batman heard something.He turned,to see Leslie,running out of the back entrance. "Bruce!Oh thank god you're here..."She said. Batman immediatley ran to her. "Is she alright?!"Batman demanded,frantically. Leslie grabbed him by both of his shoulders. "Bruce,She's fine.She's just now being rushed into the operating room."Leslie said,trying to calm him down. "I have to see her.I can't miss this.This is the birth of my son,dammit!I just can't!Do you hear me?I.." Leslie slapped him across the face.Batman looked at her. "..Thanks for that."Batman said,focusing. "Come on...we have to hurry."Leslie said,taking his hand. Batman looked down at himself,and realised he was still in his Batsuit. "Wait...I have to..." "Theres no time for that!Your wife is about to have your son,after all."Leslie said,literally YANKING Batman into the building. - - - Leslie and Batman took a different route to the operating room.One Bruce Wayne had built,incase of emergencies,such as this. Batman ran in first,seeing Rachel,along with Alfred.Alfred's eyes widened. "Uh..I...My Word!It's The Famed Batm..." Batman looked at him. "Relax.It's okay.Leslie knows who I am."Batman said,as Leslie entered the room,putting on the nessacary gear for this. Alfred breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh...Right,then.Thank heavens you're here,sir." Batman rushed over to Rachel. "I'm here,Rach.Everything's gonna be fine."Batman said,out of breath. Closing her eyes to control her breathing "Poor alfred......I think he is going to need a drink.. After this event" She giggled some she watched the doctor get her ready for this.. she had been with child for so long this hurt like hell.. Her breathing went under control as her lap was covered and her legs on something cold She couldn't tell right now... Batman turned looked back at Alfred,who didn't seem to know what to do. "Alfred."Batman said,pointing to the other side of Rachel. He couldn't hold both of her hands... Alfred nodded. "Right,Master Bruce."Alfred said,rushing over to the other side of Rachel. Leslie looked down.Her eyes seemed to widen,a little,as she looked back up at Alfred and Batman. "It's coming sooner than expected.She's going to have this baby now."Leslie said,turning her attention back to Rachel's...er...'area'. Batman looked at Alfred,eyes widened. "..NOW?"Batman asked,surprised. Alfred nodded. "My sentiments exactly."Alfred said. Leslie looked up at Rachel. "Alright,Mrs.Wayne...You're going to have to start pushing.Can you do that?"She asked. Batman tightened his grip on her hand.Alfred did so aswell. They BOTH knew this was going to hurt her....alot... She started pushing on command, she cried out as she sat up and pushed again.. Having a very strong spirit helped a bit, she kept remembering Bruce...... The time they had.....thinking about it made the pain go away for a moment.. Tears fell down her face as she kept pushing, after one big push she laid back.. Panting a little bit she was afraid she was to weak to deliver this baby.. But no she had a life inside her that needed her help... She made sure not to squeeze there hands to hard, she closed her eyes for a moment not sure how much more there was left to this.. Alfred,on the other hand,could've passed out at this moment. He didn't,But this was completely different from anything he had ever experienced. Unfortunatley,He wasn't there for Bruce's birth,so...truthfully,this was the first childbirth he had ever experienced. Leslie looked up,after a long moment.Something about the way she looked at Batman and Rachel indicated good news,for a change. "I can see the head."Leslie mentioned,before looking back down,and continuing with it. Batman's eyes widened. The Head?! Oh God....This is almost over.... ....No.THANK God this is almost over... It was the first time that it had really hit him.... His son was about to be born. And suddenly,all of that strength wasn't needed. Memories flooded her head, Bruce's parents death.......her own death of her parents.. This life in her is a part of her and Bruce......she couldn't give up... Almost out of no where she slowly sat up and pushed as hard as she could... Not letting up until finally cries where heard......slowly sitting back she closed her eyes for a moment... Alfred's eyes began welling up. "Congratulations,Mr. and Mrs.Wayne."Leslie said,handing the small,crying child to Rachel. Batman was still in shock. "I..." It was too much.It was way too much for him to handle...so...He didn't. Batman immediatley pulled off his cowl,and looked down at....his son. Even mentally saying that was unreal. Putting one arm around Rachel,He smiled,with tears slowly streaming out of his eyes.The eyepaint was smearing... Suddenly,every problem he had in life faded.He was a dad. A DAD. Even that was going to take some getting used to... Regardless,This was the happiest day of his life.And there weren't many of those. Looking up at bruce she smiled then at Alfred, putting the child carefully in her arms so he could see his father and grandfather... "My beautiful boy" She had tears in her eyes "Meet your daddy and your grandpa..." Running her hand down there baby, tears fell down when she saw there son's hand curled around bruce's fingers. "He is just as beautiful as his daddy" She smiled. Alfred had to be consoled by Leslie,actually...It was too much for him.So they left the room,leaving Bruce and Rachel with their baby. He could've died when the little guy grabbed his gloved fingers. Loong at Rachel,with tears streaming,He leaned in,and kissed her,before looking back at his son. "My God...I...Can't even....I can't believe it...But...it's real.He's real."Bruce said,trying to make sense of it all. Quite obviously,this was new.And this was going to change everything. But...Bruce was overjoyed.A man who spent most of his life with few emotions...mostly anger and grief...was overjoyed. It was...in a word...Amazing. And Rachel was right...He really was beautiful. Just like his mother... Bruce was impressed with how much Rachel was able to handle this,most of all.She did it with grace. Bruce smiled,with black paint filled tears still running down his face,at Rachel. "I'm so proud of you."He whispered,before turning his attention back to his son. "Welcome to the world."Bruce said,holding his son in his arms. This was unreal.Completely unreal.UTTERLY unreal. Bruce had to remind himself that he was awake,and that he wasn't dreaming. But....He wasn't. Bruce Wayne was a father. The Batman was a father. And He still couldn't believe it,even after seeing it for himself. For once,in Bruce's misrable life,He had some form of hope...wrapped in a blanket. Gotham City had a new resident.And his name was Bryce Richard Wayne.
