Karma: 2 Gotham City Laws(The Rules) « Thread Started on Jun 28, 2005, 9:58am » With an RPG,you have to have rules. And with a city,even a virtual one,you have to have laws. Here are the laws for Gotham City: Character Creation Rules -When making a character,you have to make an application for him/her first. -You CAN NOT post until you are accepted.Any Game posts made by you without acceptance will be deleted. -Any character you apply for must be someone from The DC Comics Universe,particularly from the Batman universe. -You have to make a seperate Application,if your going to play your character's secret identity aswell. -Your username must be of your character,so its not confusing.You can change your username in the profile section. -Your character name must have a first and last name,unless he/she has a code name.(IE:Batman,Catwoman,ect.) -Until I allow it,no one can have more than one character account,or apply for more than one character.However,I think I will allow more than one.....eventually.Just not now.... Gaming Rules -When posting in the gaming sections,you must post in character,or put ( ) around your post,to clarify that its an OOC post. -Post in third person at all times....so people can better understand what your character is doing. -Use proper grammar and english,please.A few mistakes are passable,but stuff like "c ya l8ter" and "OMFGLOL!!" in Character posts are not allowed.OOC posts....fine. -Sex is allowed.Keep it clean.....but its allowed.After all...this is Batman.Batman is a mature character.... -Death is allowed. -Swearing is pretty much a given at some point.However,Im going to keep it to a minimum.You will be able to say "damn" and "ass" without the censors...well...censoring it. -No *'s in Character posts,either. Character Rules -No Superpowered characters.Transformed characters like Mr.Freeze are alright,but people like Superman,Clayface,Captain Marvel,and Poison Ivy arent allowed. -No Invincible Characters.Batmans Universe consists of very human characters.......so any character CAN be hurt. -As far as how much damage the character takes.....well.....it depends on the character,really.If you play Bane,you will note that Bane is VERY strong,and cannot be hurt as easily.Anyone who wears armor can take SOME blows....but not all of them. -Killing another character is not allowed,unless you are given permission.Suicide....sure.But killing someone else is forbidden,unless stated otherwise. -Characters cannot return from the dead,unless stated otherwise. -You CANNOT control another persons character.You can say they moved,or something like that,but you cannot majorly control them.Leave that to the person who has him/her. -Bunnying NPCs is allowed,until the character is taken. -You have to travel.You cant just appear out of nowhere,and you cant know information unless you are in the same area.Come on,theres a full Gotham City to travel in.If you dont have transportation,theres always The Monorail. -You CAN hurt other players...but not majorly.A few punches and kicks are fine........but breaking someones arm or ripping it out of its socket is a little......much. -You CAN capture players.If your a villian,you should probably take them back to your lair.If your captured,You have to be captured.You cant just escape easily...... -If your defeated by Batman or another hero,your either taken to Arkham,or Stonegate(I shall decide where...).Post there until you have broken out.Your own,personal Holding Cell is requestable.....in fact,Im starting an application for it. -If you dont post within AT LEAST 2 weeks of your last post,your character can be given to someone else. -You have to be 13 to play. OOC Board Rules -No Flaming and Fighting.Respect your fellow members. -Stay on topic.If you want to make a topic about something else,do so. -No Racism. -Respect the staff members.They are here to keep order to the boards......so dont make their job any harder. -Pornography isnt allowed.Its offensive to some people........ Other than that,Anything goes. Abide by these "Laws" and you will be okay. You have a limited amount of three warnings before you are banned.....so try to follow the rules.
